Knock, knock. Who’s there?
My family gave me such grief for taking door handle pictures. Little did they know these would come in very handy one day.
Click on the photo to enlarge it, which allows you to see the fine detail of these doors and their handles.
Which one is your favorite door handle?

I have a fascination for doors, and the handles give the added character. many thanks for stopping by my blog with a like!
I don’t know why I decided to take door knob pics, maybe because there were so many and they were all so unique.
Love the barn stories. My husband knows that anytime, anywhere, he has to stop the car so I can take pictures of obscure things, like trees, barns, rusty old stuff on the beach, and especially sunsets. Good thing he’s a patient man. He’s even started to notice things like that and point them out to me. I guess that’s what happens after 23 years of marriage.
Likewise…my husband and I are on 24 years of marriage, together 30 this year. It’s interesting the new ways that I am noticing the world around me and how it can be photographed. Very fun!

They are all beautiful. What a unique way to document your travels. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
Thank you for your support of my door handle obsession while I was traveling. I don’t know why I was overcome to shoot these. Maybe because every door was unique. I will have to let my family know that I really wasn’t wasting their time while they waited for “just one more shot.”

That’s so funny. It reminds me of a story my son told me when he was still in high school. I take pictures of barns and we live in rural Virginia. When my son was getting his required hours for his driver’s license we would go out riding and I would have the opportunity to look at the scenery from the passenger seat. Often I would make him find a safe place to pull over so I could get out the car and take a picture of a barn.
Once he came home from school and during dinner he told me about one of his teachers telling the story about crazy people who take pictures of his old dilapidated barns. Andrew said “I just hung my head and thought oh no, that’s my mom”.
That is a funny story. Now, here’s the weird thing. If someone was to ask my husband what I would want to make a coffee table book of, he way say, “Barns across America.” I LOVE a good dilapidated barn. I knew I was drawn to your blog for a reason.
OMG…we’re like barn sisters, haha. That’s so cool. I get a lot of flack for it but the few prints I have sold have been of barns. I have a blog in my drafts (one of many!!!!) about how i got started taking pictures of barns. I can’t say when I will get that up though..lol
In the mean time, let’s see if this link works:
